PERSONALITY
Piers has very specific things that he enjoys. Being slightly picky and ocd, he prefers for things to go the way he’d planned. Not to say he has to control every aspect of his life, but he does like small “rituals”, such as a glass of orange juice in the morning, a habit brought around from his parents, who would have him drink a glass every day before school. He’s also a big fan of fighting, being thoroughly trained in mma, and enjoys getting into little scuffles here and there. He used to be a huge drug addict, but after forcing himself through withdrawals, he now only occasionally binges, sticking to ganja as a general rule. Aside from that, he’s a bit of a partier. He likes to go to bars or clubs to pick up women, have sex, and never see them again (in most cases).
In similarity, he dislikes the idea of commitment. He hasn’t been a big fan of relationships since his sister killed herself, considering himself too emotionally unstable for them. And, speaking of his sister, he hates any reminder of her or his parents. He of course has small memorabilia to his lost family, but tries not to mess with them, being in the habit of falling into a bit of a funk when reminded of them. He also harbors a strong dislike of large fires, being as a fire is what killed his parents, and he was inside during the event. His past has also caused him to have frequent night terrors that plague him unless he drinks himself to sleep. Lastly, he just does not like getting his morning orange juice. If you drink the last of his OJ, be prepared for a foul mood from the lad.
He definitely has his strengths, being thoroughly trained in mma. He can be suave and charismatic if need be, and is well aware of his good looks and… skill inside the bedroom, and as such emotes confidence, allowing him to be pretty darn good at getting what he wants. He is pretty nonchalant about most things in life, though family is a huge matter to him – obviously not his own, but his friends’ and the like. If someone seriously mistreats a family member, they can better bet he’ll be at their defense, looking for blood.
That being said, he also has quite the temper. Once something sparks it, steer clear, because he either has to sit alone and let it wear off, smoke a bowl, of fight it out. Sometimes there’s really no solution other than to let him pick a fight with someone and beat the tar out of them, or vice versa. When he’s been reminded of his past, or when he’s stressed, he gets into this crappy little “mood” where he’ll start picking at people until he gets them angry enough to fight him. If it’s with a friend, he considers it more of a favor rather than holding a grudge, and after he’s blown his steam off, he’ll pat them on the shoulder, make some light-hearted comment, and be on his way to clean up… But beware, the fights aren’t just a couple of punches. It usually involves in broken furniture… which he will dutifully pay to replace or repair.
PERSONALITY WORDS:
TROUBLED: 1. beset by problems or conflict. Piers is very, very disturbed, in the sense that he's consistantly haunted by his past. He has nightmares almost every night, can get sucked back into his memories when he's alone, and can drive himself to the point of near insanity if he pushes himself far enough. Because of this, he tries to stick near his friends, rather than receding into his room.
NEUROTIC: [adj.] Suffering from, caused by, or relating to neurosis. Though not officially diagnosed, he is mildly insane. He's neurotic to the bone; he's got very strange, random OCD quirks, he has nightmares when he sleeps, and as such is an insomniac, and also builds up tension in a negative way. When he gets stressed, he'll get in a specific "mood"... he'll start picking at people, prodding them until he pisses them off enough to get in a good fight.
PROMISCUOUS: 1.(of a person) Having many sexual relationships, esp. transient ones. Piers has a bit of a... hesitation towards relationships. The only time he's really "dated" anyone since he was sixteen has been on a purely sexual basis.
MORDANT: (esp. of humor) Having or showing a sharp or critical quality; biting. While being a nice enough guy, has a very crude sense of humor. He’s blunt and sarcastic, finding amusement in snarky little comments, regardless of what their emotional outcome may be… But if he can tell he’s really hurt someone’s feelings, he has his own way of reassuring them he’s not being serious.

HISTORY
Piers was born in London, England, to his two loving parents. They were a lower-middle class family, but got along well enough, teaching him that he would have to work hard if he wanted anything well enough. When he was two, his mother gave birth to a little girl, Alanna, a little girl he grew to love and care for. They would, as any siblings do, fight and bicker, but despite any differences they had, they were very close. Je would fight anyone that messed with her, loving to get into a scuffle for any worthy reason.
On one particularly bright, sunshiny day, when he was about thirteen, he and Alanna were sitting at the bus stop after school, under the shade of a tree, enjoying the nice weather with a few friends after a half day at school. Someone pointed out the smell of burning wood, and their attention was soon drawn to black clouds of smoke billowing into the sky. They grew worried, and started heading home at a. Brisk pace, only to be greeted with a stronger, more intoxicating smell, and the sound of a crackling fire.
He left his friends behind, sprinting as fast as he could towards his house, only to find it in flames. Without missing a beat he sprinted through the front door, screaming for his parents. He heard his mother's pained screams from upstairs, and tried to run up to save her, but found the staircase blocked by a section of the floor that had fallen through. Coughing from the thick smoke, he fell to his knees, preparing to give up his life in his inability to help his parents... until he saw Alanna. She was stumbling through the house, coughing and crying, and she gave him the strength to force himself back to his feet, running to his sister's aid. He hugged her to him, and started to pull her out, towards the sound of fire truck sirens, only to instead be drowned out by the floor above them groaning and snapping as it gave way. He shoved Alanna forward towards the door, but she stumbled and began to fell, so he threw himself on top of her, wrapping his arms around her small frame as the floor collapsed.
The firefighters rescued the two children, though they were obviously too late for their parents. Piers received multiple burns across his back, which ended up leaving scars that would stay with him for the rest of his life. His sister was allowed to stay in the hospital with him, and the time it took him to heal was used to find a place that could keep the siblings together; no one wanted to separate the boy from the sister he had just given so much to protect. Finally, he and his sister were shipped off to an orphanage that allowed boys and girls alike.
It was around that time Piers began to grow... angsty. He wasn't particularly violent, but he would have periods of time where the stress from his parents dying would leave him angry and conflictual. He would pick out the tiniest detail about something and remark on it, repeatedly until he pissed someone off and could get in an argument (or, better yet, a fight) with them. Anyone that so much as tried to mess with him, or worse, Alanna, received the brunt of his anger. He and his sister moved into a foster home, with two middle-aged adults looking to adopt. Though he was generally a nice kid, his spurts of teenage angst made it hard for the couple to want him to stay. He was put into an mma class to try and cure his temper, but when he learned the basics but didn't show signs of improving he was withdrawn, for everyone elses' sake.
Six months later, Piers was sent back to the orphanage. Just after she was legally adopted, Alanna commited suicide, at the age of fourteen.
For a while, he lost his mind. He became reckless, rude, and violent. He was angry, depressed, and rebellious. No one could really blame him, but nothing anyone did helped. He got into fights regularly, not caring if he won or lost, and started toying with drugs, started drinking a lot. He would go to his best friend, Stry's, house, get messed up, and roam the town, causing trouble where he could.
When he turned 18, he was forced out of the orphanage and into homelessness. He spent a few years bumming it out on the streets, working random jobs and participating in "fight clubs" of sorts to make money for booze, drugs, and whores. He spent a long time in a dark place, unable to get over the built-up loss of his family.
It wasn't until he started working for Silas, Stry's little brother, as the muscle for their drug dealing that he started to get any better. It took nothing more or less than time for Piers to heal, in which he finally forgave himself (well enough, at least) and learned to live and deal with his problems. He mostly relies on much more ganja and much less drinking than before to get on with his life, but still lapses into his "moods", where he picks a fight with just about anyone until he can duke it out. Back then, Stry was almost always around to help him calm his nerves.
Silas' drug dealing started out small, on the down-low. However, before too long he grew restless with the low income. Being the smarter of the Hazard children, he began to use his skills to expand his dealing; first, by quantity, then by merchandise. As he gained more customers with more needs, he began getting the more "risky" drugs. He eventually grew enough to become a more well-known name in the world of drug dealing, and began expanding his reach even further. He met and partnered with a few of the right people, and got to the point of no longer having to run his own drugs to customers. He "hired" a few more people to do it, and began to work his way to the top of a long chain of suppliers. He remained at the top, with Silas, acting as his "bodyguard" of sorts, and even being further trained in mma fighting, both for his own enjoyment and Silas' benefit.
Eventually, though, the progress halted. While Silas was well enough off where he was, his partners began talking of expanding further, moving to America, the main problem being infiltrating and establishing the connection, and really trusting anyone in the country. After a few months of debating, he was asked to do the job. He accepted without too much hesitation, always being one to prefer riskier situations, and figuring leaving the country possibly being an eventual cure to his nightmares and hauntings of his past.
It took a few more months, but he finally got the long-term visas needed for him to go to America, and was at least beginning to apply for residency. One long plane ride later, he landed in Beverly Hills, California. He began renting an apartment in the city, in a more... run-down area of town, and got to work picking out potential drug addicts. He was a bit better at picking them out by that point, being an ex-addict himself, and had further initiative to find the dealers in the area because of his strong want for ganja to smoke, considering it helped him sleep more peacefully, and calmed him in general.
Eventually, he found the right people, and with careful negotiation found himself in possession of contact information for a larger dealer/supplier in America. He forwarded this information to Silas, and let the big boys do the talking while he sat back and got comfortable in America. Eventually, it was agreed that one of Silas' connects would use their business, which produced multiple products (as far as furniture, small trinkets, just varied objects of the like) to smuggle in some rather high-class drugs, while the dealer in America shipped out ganja and money. He is remaining in America, to "keep an eye" on the dealings, and make sure nothing fishy is going on, but it's not very likely to. Mostly he just keeps himself entertained with doing any "dirty work" that's needed of him by the dealer in America.
