the los angeles basin is an archeological site which has been researched for dated artifacts from centuries ago. it was once the ancestral lands of many native americans. although it is something like a campground or hang-out area for la's teens, there is said to be a mystery lurking about its grounds.

the harbor city branch library sits a bit away from the coast. although it has been reinforced with stilts, past hurricane damage can still be identified upon the tall colonial revival style walls.

the ken malloy memorial park was named after one of the founders of the harbor district. a pond for both fishing and recreational activities is off to the right, a wooded area as its border. a children's playground as well as multiple hiking trails go up along the rocks and near the shore of the ocean.
