"SO VIOLET. YOU'RE A BELMONT ALUM, AND STARTING YOUR SOPHOMORE YEAR AT COLLEGE IN THE FALL... BUT YOU HAVEN'T PICKED A MAJOR, YET? WHY'S THAT?
"Yep, and yep. Thing is, I have no idea what I want to do with my life. I finished high school, and I didn't want to work full time, so I went to college for something to do. I mean, my friends were going, so why the hell not, you know? So I'm doing bits of everything, trying to find a "career direction" or whatever you call it. I'm not all that bothered, though, not really."
WOULD YOU SAY THAT YOU'RE A GOOD STUDENT?
"[snorts] No. I mean, I do the work and stuff, I just prefer to do it on my terms. High School was terrible for me. I'd cut class when I didn't feel like going, and I was forever handing in things late because I procrastinated too much. In a way, I like college a hell of a lot more. I have more freedom, and I'm not constantly being told what to do..."
WHAT ARE YOUR PLANS FOR THE SUMMER?
"I'm working two part time jobs to earn some money. The first is waitressing at this little fifties style diner. I get to dress up and wear roller skates while I wait on people. It's kind of fun. And the second is just being a lifeguard down at the local beach. I've always been a strong swimmer, so I guess it makes sense. Ha."
DESCRIBE YOURSELF IN TWENTY WORDS
"Oh, shit. Um, wait! That's not one of them. Stubborn. Reckless. Independent. Free-spirited. Loud. Curious. Friendly. Eccentric. Daring. Goofy. Forgetful. Disorganized. Childish. I like to think I'm funny. Energetic. Prankster.Romantic. Naive. Flaky. Honest. That's twenty, right?"
WHAT'S YOUR FAMILY LIKE?
"Surprisingly normal. Mom's a lawyer, Dad's an accountant. My older sister is at medical school, and my brother's a senior at college. We've always been really close. I mean, me and my sister are at each other's throats quite a few times over the years, because she's the complete opposite of me, but apart from that, we all get along really well. We always had enough money, and nothing too traumatizing ever happen to any of us, so... yeah."
WHAT ARE YOUR HOBBIES?
"Uhhh... To be honest with you, I'm quite a lazy person. I don't really have any hobbies, per se. I used to draw, just like doodles and random stuff, but I gave that up a while ago. I like movies... OH! And I love food! Not so much preparing it, but eating it. I'm a terrible cook. And a terrible driver, too, but let's not get into that. I guess I kind of like reading, too, but I get a bit bored. I like having pictures to go with the story, which is probably why I like movies so much. I also used to do dancing, but I gave that up when I was fifteen. It was pretty clear by that stage I was just going to keep Mom happy."
DO YOU WANT A FAMILY SOMEDAY?
"Oh my God. I'm nineteen. You can't just ask me this. I'm probably the most irresponsible person you'll ever meet. [laughs] But yes, I do. I actually really like kids. I want a big family. Lots of kids, lots of pets. Of course, I'm gonna wait to meet the right person, get married, and get a proper job and all, but I do want a family someday. I really hate the idea of getting divorced, though. I mean, when I settle down, it has to be with the right person. A nineteen year old should not be saying this, right? I'm too young to think about marriage!!
ANYTHING ELSE YOU'D LIKE TO SAY?
"Hi, Mom! Hi, Dad! [waves] I think that's it."
